Embark with Seattle-based filmmaker J. Joshua Diltz as he films in real time his guided return home with Cliff Hudson, his cousin who grew up in Metlakatla, AK as they dig deeper into their ancient heritage on an epic journey of discovery, finding family and uncovering untold history.

Filmed live as Cliff Hudson from the Blackfish clan uncovered hidden family history by speaking to elders, scouring archived documents, museums, anthropological, archeological and genealogical records, fervently following the clues found in dusty attics and cobwebbed basements, revealing connections and clues as they are swept along an adventure of discovery.

Each discovery transforms their world as they visit the beautiful Olympic Coast National forest, the bustling speed of new York City, and the stifling southwest desert heat to finally settle on the majestic shores, serene yellow hills, and purple mountains of Metlakatla, Alaska.

As the waves lap the quiet shores of Metlakatla like a heart slowly beginning to beat again, J. Joshua Diltz finds much more than he ever expected.
